SQUARE ONE MINISTRIES REDESIGN

Jan 2025 - Present

Our Goals.

  • Dream it.

I was approached by the pastors of Square One Ministries to help reimagine and design a new website for their church. Their existing site was outdated and had been neglected over time, making it hard for visitors to find information or connect with the community. Working closely with the pastors, I focused on creating a clean, welcoming design that reflected the heart of their ministry and made it easy for members and newcomers to get involved.

  • Build it.

Our goal was to help turn the pastors’ vision into reality, growing their church and creating a modern, welcoming online space for their community. Through thoughtful design and user-centered planning, we aimed to build a website that not only looked fresh but also made it easier for people to connect, get involved, and feel at home with Square One Ministries.

  • Grow it.

As part of the redesign, we’re adding features that support the church’s growth and outreach goals, including an updated events page and integrated online streaming for services. We’re also focusing on improving search engine optimization (SEO) to help more people discover the church online. These updates will make it easier for members to stay connected, new visitors to get involved, and the church to expand its reach within the community and beyond.

THE PROCESS.

Research & Planning

Before touching any design tools, I met with the clients to understand their vision, challenges, and what they wanted the site to achieve. Their existing site was hard to navigate and lacked features to support community engagement. I mapped out user goals and gathered inspiration to guide the redesign toward a more modern, accessible, and community focused direction.

Sketches & Wireframes

I began the process with quick sketches and wireframes, exploring layout ideas that would simplify navigation and make key information, like service times, events, and contact details easy to find. These early drafts focused on hierarchy, usability, and creating a flow that felt natural for both new visitors and returning members.

Design in Figma

Once the structure was in place, I moved into Figma to develop a polished visual design system. I focused on clarity, warm colors, and welcoming imagery that reflected the church’s community driven spirit. For this step the client decided against interactive prototypes to save time on getting the real site up and going.

Building in Squarespace

Launch & Rebrand

After finalizing the design, I moved into Squarespace to build out the live site. I implemented new features such as an events page, online streaming integration, and SEO optimization to help the church expand its online reach. The build emphasized accessibility, responsiveness, and ease of maintenance for the church staff.

As we prepared to launch, the clients informed me of a rebrand from Square One Ministries to Glory Orchard. The new identity is now being woven into the redesigned site, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for their ministry. The transition continues, but the foundation is already in place.
